Title: Irrigated/Non-irrigated Lands, 1986, Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer, Idaho (raster format)
Originators: Geospatial Technology Section, Idaho Department of Water Resources
Series name: p3940r2930_1986_irrpatch_fill2.img
Data type: remote-sensing image
A characterization of the data, including its intended use and limitations.
Abstract:
This is a 30-meter raster dataset created from Landsat TM data in which a value of 0 denotes non-irrigated land and a value of 1 denotes irrigated land. NDVI images were processed for three dates for Path 40 Rows 29-30 (1986/05/28, 1986/06/13, 1986/07/31) as well as three dates for Path 39 Rows 29-30 (1986/06/22, 1986/08/09, 1986/10/12). The NDVI images were then processed in an unsupervised classification with 250 classes using ERDAS Imagine followed by a supervised classification in which the classes were grouped and labeled as irrigated or non-irrigated.
Purpose:
This data set was generated to use in the calculation of recharge and evapotranspiration in order to calibrate the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer Hydrologic Model.
